With the help and support of our howlingly great technology humans, I have this awesome webpage called R.U.F.F. (River's User Friendly Folios)
I am asking humans near and far to read a children's story (about 5-6 minutes long) in front of a cell phone video camera. The video should be sent to my mom, Ms. Lombardi, at [email protected].
Here are the guidelines:
1. The book should be geared to the younger elementary children.
2. The cell phone should be held horizontally by another individual. They should sit eye level to you and stabilize their hands by resting them on the back of the chair.
3. Introduce yourself by stating your name and saying something about yourself.
4. State the name of the book, author and illustrator and why you chose this book. It would be wonderful to have people read books in their native language too! Be sure you are in a quiet place.
5. Read the book while trying to make some eye contact with the camera. Show some of the pictures but don't get crazy trying to juggle reading and turning pages.
6. Do not rush.
7. At the end of the book you can say something if you'd like. Or just say, "I hope you enjoyed this story."
8. Replay your reading efforts and make sure you are happy with it. Then upload and send to my mom.
9. If you would like my mom to do this with you, please e-mail her. She will help with anything you may need.
Thank you for your willingness to participate.
Tail Waggingly yours,
River
