Greetings GRM Community,

It is my absolute pleasure being the principal here at George Ross Mackenzie Elementary School. We are a Pre-kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school with just over 200 students with our average class size being approximately 15 junior yellow jackets. Our school is nestled along the Delaware River in southwestern Sullivan County, an area rich in history, beauty and compassion. GRM Elementary School was built in 1995 on land owned by the family of George Ross Mackenzie which eventually became owned by the Town of Lumberland who donated it to the district to allow for it to be built as the district saw its enrollment expand exponentially in the late 1990s needing to have a separate building for our elementary school-aged students.

As I enter my third year as your principal I am reminded of the wonderful things we as a community, staff and faculty have accomplished and excitedly await our future endeavors together. I always look forward to meeting our new pre-kindergarten students and their families and of course seeing our present students and their families return each year. My passion for education and improving student outcomes is unmatched and I will be present, accessible and accountable for all of the students here at GRM. I look forward to a great year ahead and am sincerely grateful for you allowing me to be your principal.

Respectfully,

Michael Carpentieri
