Welcome To George Ross Mackenzie Elementary School  

George Ross Mackenzie Elementary School was built in 1995 on land belonging to George Ross Mackenzie. Our elementary school is located in the southern part of rural Sullivan County, New York near the Delaware River. There are approximately 250 students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. 

What's Happening

Science Is Fun Event: “Science and Art - A Great Mix!”

Eldred Junior-Senior High School students and teacher will present “Science Is Fun!” with demonstrations and hands-on activities for children ages 5 to 12 on Tuesday Oct. 30, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The theme of this educational event is “Science

and Art - A Great Mix!” 

The event will take place in rooms 316 and 317 on the third floor of JSHS. Sponsors are Eldred CSD Parent Teacher Association and the American Chemical Society. Cookies, apple cider, and ice-tea will be provided. 

This free program is designed to introduce young people to the wonders of chemistry and other sciences in ways they can easily understand.

Principal's Message

Welcome back, everyone!

We are looking forward to the new school year! Please join me in welcoming  Miranda Martell our new PreK teacher, Sara Simon-Shult new Music teacher and Joann Burrows-Wood returning Elementary teacher to the GRM faculty.  Also our new support staff, Heather Tice, Angelia Abato, Rebecca Ryman and Melinda Coney our new teacher aides, Chelsea Kee our new monitor.

We hope to see many of you there, supporting our Yellow Jacket teams.


School Day Hours

Students are considered tardy if they arrive to school after 8:25 a.m.

Pick-ups are announced at 3:00 p.m. and buses depart at approximately 3:15 p.m.

Bee Proud Day!

The first Thursday of every month is BEE PROUD DAY! Wear your green & gold to show your Eldred Pride!
